A Week in Prague

So we set off from Dublin on Wednesday night arriving in Prague about 10 in the evening.  Great a week off, no work, some rest, a couple of days in Prague and then some time in the countryside.

Plans Oh Plans

Plans – something that causes stress.  I have found that life never seems to go to the plan I have for it at any time.  We collected a car from the airport on the Thursday morning and started our rounds of people we have to visit.  By the end of the day I was saying to the last one we visited – do you know this is our holidays, the first since last September.

We come here for almost all our holidays now because it is where my other half is from.  But people don’t seem to realise that it is our holiday – it feels sometimes like everyone wants a bit of us, maybe just my view as I am not too used to many people around.

Could You Spend a Week In Prague?

I used to come to Prague and spend a week sometimes more in the city and drive myself nuts.  Really I would not go and spend a week in any city.  If I was visiting Prague for the first time I would plan on a max of 4 or 5 days.  With that amount of time you will be able to see all the highlights and have a bit of time to relax.

Prague is not very big, about 2 million people but it is a fairly compact city centre and very easy to get around.  I would suggest buying one of the 4 or 5 day travel passes that cover the under ground and the trams.  So here are the top things to have a look at when you come here:

Prague Castle – a must for any holiday to the city. However I have written my Prague top ten before so I am not going to re-hash the same information again.
