    Default Camping vs albergues

    Hi!

I´m thinking to start my journey in June. But my biggest concern is about sleeping I´m just not very into staying in full albergues with strangers....It´s not about arrogance, I just dont want to be in a position where I have to stay there, even if i dont feel like it....I`d like to walk by myself and try to gather my thouhts and of course to meet people but not every day....hope someone gets what I am trying to say

So..I have read something about camping on the routes and it seems that it is not a very good idea to take your tent and then carry it allll the way....So...I really dont know what should I do then....Any advise?

Other question is about the weather...it seems that it is getting really warm in June, but if I looked the weather forecast for earlier years, it showed that the nights are quiet cold...about 8 degrees...

And now i remember that I wanted to ask something else too...dont know anymore if I´m posting it to the right topic But...as i understand the best route for beginner is Camino Frances, but I was thinking with my mother, that we could start tohether from on point, but then go different directions....Is there any other good route for beginners...that we could just start at the same time (dont even have to be the same starting point) and walk through similar route?....

Thank you for all your advice and tips

If you have a light tent and other things in your backpack and strong bag (13-14 kilos in total with food and water was OK for me), you can manage it with the tent. Otherwise, take just a sleeping bag and a mat and be prepared to sleep in a sweather and a jacket during colder nights. When it's not rainy, you don't need a tent too sleep outdoor.

Camino Norte should be the second best route for a beginner.

I usually advise first-timers to start with the Camino Frances. It's got a well-developed and dense infrastructure of accommodation, cafes, shops, etc. If you enjoy that then by all means go on and walk some of the other Caminos.

On camping out: in summer it doesn't rain much, but you'll need to keep an eye open for the TV weather forecast when you're in bars, in case there are thunder showers. So, generally you don't need a tent.

13-14kg sounds like a lot of stuff to me. I usually carry about 7-8kg. Pavel is obviously a big, strapping lad! A good rule is that your backpack shouldn't weigh more than 10% of your body weight. It's a good idea to do a test pack and a 20km hike with your backpack to see how it feels (twice around your living-room doesn't really tell you anything useful).

I am not so big and strong, but I took quite a lot of training training before my Camino. Up to 10 kg should be OK for most people, more only if you have some experience with carrying such loads for at least few days.

Hi kr6psu. I start Via la Plata in the June, after one week. I take ultralight sleeping mat, light sleeping bag (usable from +8 C) and a light tarpeline, to be used only in case of emergency (too tired to get to the alberque) or if I find by accident a good place to camp Even light tent is too heavy for me. Still I plan to saty in the alberques as the main option.
    Buen camino, krõpsu
