Norte- trains/buses, and when to switch to Primitivo/frances?
Some friends and I booked flights and gave ourself 22 days to walk from Santander to Santiago de Compostela. However, we plan on doing a lot of sight-seeing and town-exploring, and may not make it in that time. Are there buses and trains from places like Gijon, Aviles, or other places along the noerthern path where we could board a bus or train to Santiago de Compostela? I have checked the Feve and Renfe websites for trains, and I can't find anything!
Also, I saw on this forum someone suggested taking hte Feve from Santander to Santillana del Mar to avoid road walking and detours. As we are trying to maximize time, I like this! But on the Feve site the train didn't stop in Santillana. Is this just because its such a small town its not mentioned on the website?
Also, we love the ocean, and want to follow the coast for as long as possible. Is it just much more practical to switch to the Camino Primitivo at Oviedo, or walk on the northern way until Arzua? I'm a little confused.
panicking backpacker,
Ana
