Which is a quiet road? And a quiet time?
Hi all,
I've only recently heard of the pilgrimage (where have I been hiding!?) and am now all fired up to go. But.... I love the stories from people who travelled some years ago and say it was mostly a private contemplative experience. It sounds like now it's just another tourist gathering with masses of people racing from one place to another (please tell me I'm wrong!!!)
So my question is : out of the main roads to Santiago which one will most fit my idea of a picturesque countryside (not an easy walk) with not many people on it but still a place with hot food and a welcome shower awaiting at the end of the day. Is it Camino Frances despite its popularity?
And the second question is: what would be the best time of the year to go to encounter least number of people but when the weather is also managable?
Thank you heaps in advance!!!
Izabella
