Default Which shoes for the afternoon and evening?

Am planning to walk the camino in april and may. What kind of shoes do you advice for after the walk? I guess it 'll be still too cold for sandals? On the other hand sportshoes weigh extra?
Should I take extra bath-slippers with me?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

I always try and ensure that the kit and clothing I carry has a dual use, so I use boots for the trek and trail sandals by Teva for the evenings.

My Teva's are good in the shower cos you do not wish to contemplate the state of the shower tray after 30 pilgrims have showered and you need flip flops or some form of waterproof footwear in the shower.

In summer I have trekked many days in my Teva's without any problem, with or without socks. If it is a little cold for sandals then just wear socks.

I have been in albergues when a pilgrims boots have been "misplaced" and a grotty old pair is all that is left on the racks, so an alternative set of footwear which you can trek in is better than just a pair of flip flops which would not survive 5 minutes on the average trail.

Trail sandals are heavier than flip flops, but at least you can walk in them.

Har har you got me quite curious to the shower trays, although I can already imagine what it will be like.

We walked from Roncesvalles starting on April 10 of 2009. I understand this was a cooler year than normal. I wore a good supportive sandal that I could wear with socks, but for the most part I just went barefoot in them and was fine. I would not bother with slippers. Keep your load under 9 kg and wear liner socks.
