Default Taxi From Biarritz to St Jean

    Greetings:

I have just made a reservation to leave the airport in Biarritz heading to St. Jean on Saturday, April 17th around 3:30 p.m.
The total cost is 65 Euro which will be divided by the number in the taxi.

If ther is anyone who would like to join me you are welcome to. Let me know and we can figure meeting up. I'll be the one with the backpack (just kidding, that is a joke ).

Traveling from Connecticut - USA...looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Regards,
    Ctlou

    Hi Ctlou,

Hope you don't mind, but I justed edited the title you had for the post to add in "Taxi From" - this just helps the search on the forum so if anyone else is looking for the same - and you might find someone to share the fare.

    All the best
    Leslie

When you exit the terminal at Bairritz airport, the bus stop for Bayonne station is just outside the door and to the left.

Anyone standing there with a rucksack and a slightly worried look on their face, is going to the same place as you!!

Ask them if they want to share.

Leslie -- thank-you for the edit.

Covey -- I will do that, thanks for the directions.

It is a little hard to balance keeping open to wherever the road takes you while also making enough plans to ensure you get there and back without problems. I figure do the planning on either end and let the middle evovle.

    Best,
    Ctlou

    Hi CTLOU
Sorry I can't share your taxi, but how did you book the taxi as I will be doing the same, and last time, paid 100 euros, so booking is clever!
Please let me know? And good luck, or perhaps Buen Camino!

    Hi
I emailed Caroline, apcaroline@hotmail.com, at Express Bourricot,
Express Bourricot, they are located in SJPP.

Caroline was very prompt in getting back to me with a quote and then to confirm my reservation. She also said she will book additional riders to lower the per rider cost. Also, she said the ride would be aboutan hour.

This is my first, seven weeks from today I will be there.

    All the best,
    Louise

Getting a taxi from the airport to St Jean if the train is not running is a smart move, but................

There is something about a railway station and travellers.

On the flight down to Bairritz you are looking at your fellow travellers and wondering if they are joining The Way, but they might not be, and are just going for a holiday on the beach (very nice one!) at Biarritz.

At the airport bus stop for the Bayonne Station bus, the probability is that those with rucksacks, boots and baggy trousers with map pockets are your fellow Pilgrims of tomorrow, and the selection process starts.

Do I hear someone speaking English, or are they all German?? Do they look as though they know what they are doing, or do they look as lost as me? Does anyone know how we are all going to fit into two train carriages!! Better move towards the train and grab a seat before the rest work out which train to catch!!

Every year I have met people from all over the world (speaking English is the common denominator!!) outside Bayonne Station whilst we wait for the train, and every year I have walked part of the way with some of them or shared a meal when our paths have crossed again at one albergue or another.

Glad to hear the train will be working when I start again in September
