walking in 2 trips
Hello, I have a question in regard to walking the frances camino -- can anyone comment on doing the entire route in 2 trips -- I am not able to take over a month to do the entire walk -- for work reasons -- but feel I can work my schedule to do the entire route in 2 trips -- breaking it up in Leon -- I just feel the need to walk so doing it in record time is not my focus -- am planning this trip in late April/May and again in July/August.
Any comments are appreciated.

Re: walking in 2 trips
Sounds like an excellent idea. Many pilgrims have problems with taking 4/6 weeks off work and last year I came across a group of ladies from Norway who were doing St Jean to Santiago over 3 YEARS. Each year they rejoined the trail and did another section. They were in no hurry and were having the time of their lives!!
I have met people who are having to average 40kms A DAY to fit the Camino Frances in to the time they had available, but for the life of me, I did not think they were enjoying themselves. 40Kms a day means you are walking 12 hours a day, with almost no time to enjoy where you are.
Anyway, it is your Camino, and you do it your way.
Have fun

Re: walking in 2 trips
The problem you will face is that having done the first section to Leon, the days will go by very very slowly before you can get back on the trail in July/Aug.
The Camino has a strange hold on most who walk its trails. As you get nearer to Santiago you begin to realise that your adventure is rapidly coming to a close, even though you are really hoping it can go on for ever, and then you think, "I can come back next year" and so another serial Caminoist is born.

Re: walking in 2 trips
The days when you sit at home or in the office dreaming of the friends you made and the good times you had. The occasional glance at your boots and thinking to yourself " I wonder what El Cebrero will be like"
I know it sounds a little sad, but we all leave something of ourselves behind on the trail, and long to go back and pick it up again.
