already crowded in april? (start from Leon)

Hello,

I am planning to start from Leon at around the second half of April.
Now, because I read so many comments on the camino getting crowded this year, I am wondering, when will it really pick up ?
Is April-starting in Leon- still sort of ahead-of-the-wave ?

I really would not like to have a race every day for the beds in the refugio

Easter will probably be busy, then it will get a little less crowded but build up in time for pilgrims to arrive in Santiago on the 25th July.

I am going in September when the schools and universities have resumed and life will get a little less hectic as the retired generation set forth on the trail once more.

Hi there

We starting from Leon in april also. We were wondering what weather will be like? Previously we have walked from SJPP to Leon but always in August when very warm. Do we now need more layers and be rain proof?
