Bus from Santiago to Sarria
Hi,
I'm flying to Santiago airport soon and am wondering how easy it is to get to sarria by bus - some sites say this is possible with a monobus direct on weekdays at either 6 or half 6 and others say there's no direct bus and you have to bus to lugo and then to sarria. Does anyone know how to actually get to Sarria?
Thanks

Re: Bus from Santiago to Sarria
You catch the Empresa Freire SL bus from just outside the Santiago Airport terminal door to Lugo Bus Station, where you change bus to a local service from Lugo to Sarria.
In the airport terminal arrivals hall there is a tourist information desk and they always have the Lugo timetable on display, even if the desk is unmanned.
Having done the trip, I can assure you that the above is correct!

Re: Bus from Santiago to Sarria
I know this thread is pretty old but I thought I'd add this for anyone who may looking for info about this. The bus company Monbus has a direct service from Santiago to Sarria. Timetable on their website www.monbus.es

Re: Bus from Santiago to Sarria
Seems like one bus a day at 1800hrs and I assume that it will go from the Santiago Bus Station as it does not mention the airport.
The bus to Lugo from the airport starts from the Santiago Bus Station and stops at the airport on the way to, and from Lugo, but at peak times there are TWO Freire coaches which leave Santiago Bus Station at the same time going to Lugo. One service is the "slow" service which stops at the airport and all points to Lugo, and the express coach which takes the more direct route, AND MISSES OUT THE AIRPORT STOP. If you are catching the coach from Santiago Bus Station to the airport, make sure you get on the right coach, otherwise you will see the airport as you hurtle past on the express way and miss your flight.
Be aware that Sundays in Spain means very limited bus services, and in some small towns, none at all, and most of the shops will be shut, although you will normally find a food shop open for limited hours.
For the Freire service from Santiago Bus Station, you need to buy your ticket from the ticket office upstairs, and not on the bus.
