I know my friend did it from Leon to Santiago and it only cost her 20 euro.. the albergue she stayed in sorted it out for her. That's all i know i'm afraid!
As a general rule of thumb you should carry no more than 10% of your body weight.. I managed to get mine down to 4.8kg and it was a dream, i never even felt it on my back. I brought 2 pants (with zip off ends), 3 tops, 2 knickers, 2 socks, travel towel, sleeping bag, minimal toiletries, flip flops and a rain jacket, that was it.. oh and my journal. I had to buy a rain poncho out there, and some pain killers but apart from that what i brought was more than sufficient for the 2 weeks. You have other issues in that you're backpacking onwards after though. Buen camino!
