Week 1 on the Camino
I just completed my first week on the Camino and it is everything I had hoped for and more! The weather has been perfect in the morning for walking, the afternoons get a little warm. Today from Estrella to Torres del Rio, the sky was overcast and there were spinkles but that may the walk easier, I originally arrived in Los Arcos with the idea of staying there, but it was only 11:30 and the alburgue didnīt open for an hour, so I set out for Torres del rio and made it here in an hour and 20 minutes, I got some funny looks at that since that means averaging about 5 km an hour for that last leg. If I can recommend anything wear liner socks! If anyone has any questions feel free to let me know or send me a private message if you want.

Re: Week 1 on the Camino
Hi Barry, sounds like you've had a wonderful 1st week! I have been trying out "liner socks',and have found that my feet "slip" alot inside the two pairs. Any suggestions? Happy Hiking!! Nancy

Re: Week 1 on the Camino
You could try a brand called 1000 Mile Socks. I use them and they are a two layer sock, but the inner sock is attached to the outer and my feet don't seem to slip at all. I used them on the Camino last year and they were brilliant.

Coveyīs idea seems the way to go, if might come down to the material and how it matches up, I got mine at the REI store in the US and it works for me.

Re: Week 1 on the Camino
Hi, saw your comment about liners. I use socks called Wright Socks. They have a line attached inside so dont slip around. I am training for the Camino, leave in 6 weeks, and havent had any blisters at all.

Re: Week 1 on the Camino
This is in reference to last reply. It was a typo. There isnt a line, the socks are joined inside in a line.
