Starting in Sarria and have some ??

Hi everyone! I have finally been able to co-ordinate something and will be walking from Sarria to Santiago in the period of about 2 weeks (I want to take it slow)

I will be arriving in Sarria by train from Madrid on the first day at around 6am. My questions are:

Can I get a pilgrim's passport in Sarria? If yes where?
What is the next destination after Sarria and is it walkable after a full nights train ride!

Appreciate any help I get. Oh and I will be walking solo

I understand credentials are available at the Xunta Albergue in Sarria, Calle Mayor 79. Call 660-396-813 to confirm.

Next destination after Sarria is generally Portomarin which is 22.9km with a 200 meter ascent to Alto Paramo and 300m descent into Portomarin. Your ability to do this would depend on your conditioning and if you're not up to it you can stop at Barbadadelo (4.3 km) or Ferrerios (13.6km). You might go to the http://www.godesalco.com/plan/frances site and plug in Sarria to Santiago to see albergues and topography.

You may be walking solo to start, but if you even 1/2 friendly you'll make friends soon. Don't be shy. Listen for people speaking the language(s) you speak and intro yourself. You'll soon find people with similar interests and will be welcomed.

Hi now I'm thinking of getting my passport in Madrid since I'm spending all of Sunday there. Apparently I can at the big cathedral...anyone heard of this?
