Hi,
We're thinking of doing the Camino from SJPP starting around 27/28 Sept and finishing about 26/27 Oct. What sort of temperatures/weather can we expect at that time of year?
I have started twice in the first week of September from St Jean, and on both trips the weather has been excellent. However, that counts for nothing when considering what the weather is likely to be this year. Hopefully, I will be three weeks ahead of you this year as I am starting my Camino on 4th Sept.
In the previous years, the dawn start can be a little cool, and a sleeveless fleece is useful until you have warmed up after 30 minutes. The daylight hours were nice and warm at around 22c - 25c and the evenings are cool which makes sleeping easier. In Sept/Oct you get a lot of evening dew so if you are doing laundry, it takes a lot longer to dry and if left on the line too long, will get wet again with the dew.
After El Cebreiro, Galecia can be much wetter than the earlier stages so you will need good rain gear for the last stages in to Santiago or Finesterre.
Keep your fingers crossed!!
Okay mate, cheers!
