battery charger and sleeping under the sky
Hello!
Does anyone know if there is possible to get battery charger along the way? Mine is quite heavy and - cutting down the weight, I would be glad to leave it at home.
I also wonder if it is possible to put the sleeping back on the ground and sleep under the sky? Would I have any problems (official or unofficial
?
It's coming close - leaving home next friday...
Thank you for your help and sharing your experiences,
Lana

Re: battery charger and sleeping under the sky
It depends what battery charger you are talking about!
If you are talking about mobile phone chargers, then you will always find a Nokia charger with someone in the albergue, but for other makes it is better to take your own. In case you are coming from the USA, Spain and France are 240 volt mains electric. You can always buy adaptors and mobile chargers in the electrical retailers in the departure lounges of most European major airports. Many mobile chargers are multi voltage but the USA plugs do not fit French/Spanish sockets.
If you are talking about chargers for AA or AAA batteries for cameras etc, then again you need French/Spanish plug 240Volt. Again go to one of the camera/computer shops in the departure halls.
You can sleep outside under the stars and quite a few albergues have gardens, but most albergues lock up at night (they have to by law) so access to the garden might not be possible. Sleeping "rough" probably has its attractions, but so do the albergues with toilets, showers and places to do laundry. Unless you are trying to save money, use the albergues especially if you are female!
