i was hoping of maybe bringing cards or travel monopoly to get a bit of healthy competition going in the evenings. would this be good or what other social forms of entertainment have you seen like this?
thanks

I've never seen anyone with cards or board games. Seems like the evenings are full of a) conversation with fascinating people from all over the world, b) eating/drinking, c) sleeping, or d) touring these beautiful Spanish towns. I suppose no one has time or need for games. I'd leave cards at home as unnecessary weight and perhaps an distraction from the social/cultural scene of the Camino.
I just returned from my Camino and I second the advise on not bringing board games or cards. I saw some in a couple of the Alburgues and they were never used, in fact they were probably left there by past Pilgrims to get rid of the weight. The only time I ever felt the need for some type of mental distraction was on occasion wishing I had a book to read at bed time, other than that, I never felt or wanted to read when I had the chance to converse with everybody that I was meeting, and there is never a moment you don't have someone to talk to when your at the Alburgues or the nearest bar, it was always fasinating to me that I could walk down the street and run into an old friend that I've known for a few weeks or a few days, but never the less there was always a friend somewhere.
