Santiago to Leon

Hi all,

Unfortunately I have only 2 weeks off work, which hopefully will enable me to walk from Leon to Santiago. I also need to meet up with a friend along the way who is doing the entire walk. I fly into Santiago, and from what I can see there is a train from Santiago to Leon, although this is early morning so I will have to spend my first night in Santiago, and miss out on a days walking. Are there any other options? I don't fancy the bus journey from Santiago to Leon either. All suggestions welcomed

I find that Leon is not too easy to get to and the route from Santiago is the easiest. I have traveled on both the bus and train from Santiago to Pamplona via Leon - I prefer the train - just being able to get up and walk around. However the train takes about the same time as the bus - Spanish buses are fast...
