Starting the camino at port de pied..how many kilometres before we reach spain?

Help!
Planning to walk the camino trail in oct 2010, starting in France at the beginning. We have 5 full days to walk any ideas roughly where will reach after 5 days and what is the nearest airport we can start to look at booking our return flights home....welcome any advice you can offer.

If your pace is normal you'll make it a couple of days past Pamplona, which has a small airport. A typical itinerary might be:

Day 1 - SJPP to Roncesvalles
Day 2 - Roncesvalles to Zubiri or Larrasoana
Day 3 - Larrasoana to Pamplona
Day 4 - Pamplona to Puente la Reina
Day 5 - Puente la Reina to Estella

From Estella you could also bus it to Burgos, which has a larger airport. Hope this helps. Buen camino!
