Default From Biarritz to St. Jean

I will be arriving in Biarritz on Wednesday the 25th at 15:00 by plane. Should I stay in Biarritz that night or would it be possible for me to get that train from Bayonne I keep hearing about? I can't read the french website for the train and am nervous about being able to find a place to stay that late at night in St. Jean. I'm guessing this is a common dilemma.. any suggestions? Thanks!

The train times are on the following link:

    TER Aquitaine - SNCF - R=

If you are arriving at 3pm then I would suggest you get/share a taxi to Bayonne station so you can catch the 17.20 train to St Jean. That gets in to St Jean at 18.41 (ish!!) which gives you plenty of time to walk up the hill to the Pilgrim Office, collect your Pilgrim Passport and arrange a bed with one of the volunteers in the pilgrim office.

Most of the staff in the Pilgrim Office live in St Jean and their wives provide the beds they allocate!!

Oh brother! I just realized that I leave from Dublin at 3 and get into Biarritz at 6 pm. There is a train that would get me to St. Jean at 10:25. I know I couldn't get my credential at that point, but would I be able to get a room or should I stay the night in Biarritz and get the train in the morning? Sorry to be a pain!

    Some information regarding St Jean.

I cannot find any information about the opening hours for the Pilgrim Office. Last year they were closing at 10pm, but they MAY be opening a bit later this year as it is a holy year. Send them an email at the Hotmail address.
