Thanks for sharing and congratulations! This kind of post can be so encouraging. I hope to do the same thing in about 3 or 4 weeks.

Congrats on a successful camino, Sophie. It'd be great to hear what you took away from the experience. Any thoughts for those on the fence about doing the camino themselves?

Don't worry i walked for 5 weeks finishing on Aug 18th and found the standard of albergue private and municipal to be very good. I did not see or hear any talk of bedbugs anywhere Good luck you'll have a great time.

I'm going to take this "green" repellent because I'm chemically intolerant as well: Repel HG-406T Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent Pump Spray. Unfortunately, it comes in a 4-ounce which is too big for American airports. I'm considering pouring it into smaller spray bottle and relabeling it. You can get it from Amazon.

Hiya...sorry for the delay, I've been settling back into work after been off all summer!! yes I work in a school lolol.....................
As it was my first experience, my friend and I decided to stay in hotels, so we didnt do the albergues, hence there was no need for bug sprays!!!!!!! but I have to say that if I was to do another route, I would stay in the private albergues as I felt that I missed out on sharing even more with people staying in hotels......
In responce to Husynerd's question: What did you take away from the experince?
In my personal experience, my friend and I already have a friendship with Our Lord Jesus, and as we both walked and prayed together we started to Let Go, Let God, let me explain this; letting go means to let go of the people that have hurt you in your life, this could be an ex-boyfriend, ur own family, ur mum, dad, granny, brother, sister, etc....and asking Jesus to stand inbetween the two of u, asking for forgiveness and for Him to break any 'bonds' as wot is bound on earth is bound in Heaven. Pray for Jesus to Bless that person and yourself.....I know wen someone has hurt you, its very hard to forgive......I'm the first in saying it hurts.....but reflect and keep focused on the Cross, Jesus did it....and he can help us to Let Go...and then Let God take his place in ur lives...you will notice the difference!!!! 100kgs lighter, spiritually, of course and your journey continues, and you start to feel better

that was the first part of our journey, once we had Let Go.......we were able to appreciate more the beauty that surrounded us, the trees, the fresh air, and of course the people.....everytime we felt that we just couldn't walk anymore, someone came along to give us encouragement, we shared jokes, our lives etc....and then they were gone....probably because we walked slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so suddenly we heard Buen Camino, and they were off, but by then we were well on our way again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
keep walking, keep going, invite God into your lives, you will notice the difference, its a long journey, but the only one.....Jesus said 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life'
Godbless and I will share more in my next one

    Hi all
The most important thing that I have learnt from the camino, and on my daily journey, is that HAPPINESS comes from loving others and being loved. The odd spelling mistake doesn't matter lol, if your single, separated, or whatever your circumstance you find yourself in, LOVE is the greatest gift of all.......
