Default Possible to bus some of the route

    Hi guys,

I'll be doing the Camino in a week's time, and unfortunatly have been told I can now only take 3 weeks!

So my question is - Is it possible to bus some of the route?

IE - Start at SJPP and walk as far as Pamplona, then getting the bus there to somewhere about 120km outside of Santiago?

Will I still be able to recieve the compestella if I do this? And will I need to get the 2 stamps per day, or will 1 be enough considering my starting point?

On a side note - Does Bordeaux and Bayonne have stamps for the credencial?

Thanks for your help in advance!

It's definitely possible to take a bus, especially from Pamplona. I met lots of people who only had a short time, but chose to just do one leg of the trip now and plan to finish it in segments.
Also, you would make it to Pamplona in 8 days if you started from SJPP, so if you wanted to take a bus, you could easily do another 200 KM to end up in Santiago. However, I personally preferred the first part of the trip. The closer you get to Santiago, the more crowded the albergues are, and you have to be sure to get to your destination early. If I only had 3 weeks, I'd start at SJPDP (or even before) and walk until I ran out of time.

But if you're interested in the Compostela, you only have to have done the last 100 KM, regardless of if you've done any part of the way before that. I would get as many stamps as possible, though. They checked mine pretty carefully. You can get them from all kinds of places, though. Cafes, churches, albergues, so it's easy to get 2.

I vote with esbateman - the first part of the route is the best and the last 100km can be not a lot of fun during the busy times.
