advice on getting to ST.J.P.d.P May 21/22 from Bilbao or Pamplona on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday

Hi fellow pilgrims,

I need some advice. I arrive at Bilbao airport on Saturday 21 May at 1200 am. The last bus to Bayonne goes at 1300. I think I will miss it!. Busses to Bayonne don't run Sundays (22nd). Anyone got any Ideas? ... I don't want to lose a day and wait until Monday.

The 13:00 bus you found is public transportation via Pamplona, which seems out of the way and slow. Looks like your best bet is actually the Alsa bus, which has a route that leaves for Irun at 14:15 and arrives there at 16:45. Find it at www.alsa.es. To save time and make your best connection, take a cab from Irun to the Hendaye train station and catch the 5:31 to Bayonne, then the 6:11 to St. Jean. I've decided to either start from Pamplona Sunday or take a bus to Jaca from Pamplona on Sunday and start Monday.

Another way to get to St Jean is to use a shuttle service based in St Jean, the company is called Express Bourricot, they will pick you up at the train or bus station, Express Bouricot
