Default starting SJPDP march 11th - conditions suitable for route napoleon?

the weather right now in SJ looks pretty bleak.
cold and raining, occasionally snow. i knew it's what i was signing for when i decided to walk the camino early march, but still - as it draws near, i'm thinking.. hmmm....

i would really like to take the route napoleon - but am a bit worried about the weather.
i know Orrison albergue is closed, will not open till the 25th march, but i understand honto is open, so i'll stay there first night.
anyone can make an educated guess as to the road to roncesvalles being clear and possible?

    will appreciate any advice :-)

Conventional wisdom is to wait until you get to SJPP and get a weather report and recommended route from the pilgrim office there. I'm sure it'll become more clear in the days ahead -- perhaps a day or two prior you could call the pilgrim office at the phone number on this link to find out their prediction Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port - Amis du chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle P-A . Remember, even later in the year the Route Napoleon can be foggy, which makes Valcarlos the better choice.
