    Hi Katrine ~
Congrats on your upcoming Camino and welcome to the Forum. In July/Aug you'll likely get a mixture of weather from hot to hotter, depending on exactly where you start and finish. Let's say you start in Burgos and walk to Santiago -- you'll find extremely hot weather in the Meseta (roughly the first week) followed by cooler temperatures as you walk over the mountains into Galicia, and then very temperate weather with possibilities of rain in Galicia (much like Ireland I'm told, though I've never been to the Green Isle). The Meseta can be relentless since there's little shade to be had there. Still, if you're well-prepared and patient with the heat there is a certain beauty of the Meseta that you'll enjoy. Some pilgrims avoid the Meseta in the summer, but it's really a personal choice based on how well you do with heat.
Hope the best for you in your upcoming walk ~
    Sandy

During this time of year I recommend start walking every day at about 6:30-7AM and plan on ending your day about 2PM, this will give you plenting of time to walk, get to an alburgue at a nice time to get chores done and relax.
