8 days - Where to start?
Hi, I have 8 days walking with my 2 teenage children (15yrs, 17hrs) and husband all fairly fit. They want to end their walk in Santiago. Where should I start. I was thinking of Sarria but maybe we should go further? Can anyone make any suggestions.

Re: 8 days - Where to start?
Hi Tiger ~
Between 5 and 10 days out the starting points are a little remote and hard to get to, but still doable.
At a 20 km/day average (which sounds like it should be ok for you four) you could start at O Cebreiro. There's such a lovely view from this little town and it's culturally unique as well.
If you increased to a 24 km/day average you could start at the bottom of the hill at Villafranca del Bierzo. I also like this town and it is full of camino history. If you take this option your first day is a 750 meter climb, so you might lose the good favor of your kids, unless they're pretty sporting about these things.
Here's a great planner many people use that includes info about elevations, quantity of albergues, etc. http://www.godesalco.com/plan/frances Buen Camino!

Re: 8 days - Where to start?
Thanks for your advice. I think I will start from OCebreiro as we need to start off on a good footing - so I will keep my teenages happy - no moaning!! They are fit and are looking forward to the walk to Santiago. Thanks for your help.
