Default A couple of general questions.

    Hi there.
My brother and I (21&23) will be walking on the camino this summer.
we will arrive at bilbao airport at around midday of august 8th.
the plan is to start in pamplona. how do we get there the easiest, and also the cheapest?
then we have around 36 days of walking, leaving from bilbao again on the 15th of september. is that enough time, to get to finisterre? that route should be some 820km, sounds doable right?
how do we get back to bilbao? renting a car, and taking it back along the coast seems like a good idea (as expensive as train or bus), but how much time should we plan for that?
we also tend to the idea of camping, not in the wild, but perhaps in the aubergues' gardens? weight will not be an issue, we got very light tents figured out We really dont like the idea of sleeping with dozens of people in a small room, in hot august and september.
or is just sleeping under the stars possible? of course, aubergues have considerable pluspoints we dont want to miss out on (washing, showering, cooking)
i hope this all is not too much, and is not too confusing.
thanks for all the help i got from this forum before even having registered

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Bus is the only way really, the train takes forever and you have to make changes. This site - Autobuses La Unión y Burundesa has the details of the bus. A far as I know a taxi to the bus station will cost 25/30€. The bus is 13.45€ and takes about 2hrs

Renting a car is a great way of doing it. We rented one for 5 days in Santiago and drove to Finisterre, 1 night there and then slowly back to Pamplona where I had left my Car - well car was in Roncesvalles, but had to leave car in Pamplona.

Camping. Not many places to camp and wild camping is not allowed.
