Looking for Walking Partner

I am preparing to walk the El Camino Frances within the next twelve months. I am looking for a walking partner to walk it with. I am figuring on 35 days to walk it. I will be traveling from the east side of the U.S. Please respond if you are interested in finding out if this would work out for you.

I am leaving Sydney on 8 October, arriving Paris on morning of 9 October 2011. Should be in in StJPP by 10 October although will try to get there on 9 October to start the walk on 10 october. Had a plan for about 33 days walking which included a couple of rest days. I am leaving Paris on 19 November to return home so have 6 weeks away and about 5 weeks for walking. The only thing about my trip that is not flexible is the dates as I have booked my plane fare and am getting ready to apply for leave from work. Phil

Hello Phil, I wish I would have caught you a few weeks earlier. I could have done this. However, your dates are firm and I cannot meet these dates. You have purchased your ticket and I have not. I was thinking if I put out this thread of messages and by this time next year I would have connected with someone to walk with. I guess I should have been expecting the quick response. I will keep in touch over the next few months should anything change on my end. By chance, do you think you will be doing this again in 2012? I was thinking July 2012. Patti

Thank you for your message. I don't have any plans to do the walk again next year. I will see how this one goes. I have organised my itinerary day by day with hostels, etc. My goal is to walk to Finisterre and time is at a premium. With a couple of longer days, I should be OK to be back in Paris by 18 November for my flight home the next day.
Currently I don't have anyone to walk with but I am looking forward to meeting people and a walking partner would have been a bonus. I am 58 and reasonably fit. I knowthere will be challenges but, if I don't get to Finisterre, that will be an attraction for a later walk.
People have asked me if it is a pilgrimage or just a walk. I think it is a bit of both.

Anna-Rose, my family also wants me to have a walking partner since it is my first time...I think I could do June-Julyish 2012....plenty of time to plan...keep me posted...

I know this thread is a year old but I am planning to start walking from St Jean Pied De Port in late July and I can't wait.
Planning to walk solo but would be nice to join up with others for some or all of the journey. I have walked the last stages of the French and Portugese way and I know you are never alone walking, so many friends to make along the way. Let me know if anyone is interested in teaming up.

Hi me and my friend are doing it from the end of july to the end of August ! We are starting from pamplona but perhaps we will meet along the way
