Default Which route to take on Camino Frances?

    Hey everybody,

This is a brillant forum & its full of great advice. I'm new to the forum & camino. I really want to do Camino Frances, but only have 2 weeks off work. Hoping to go during the first 2 weeks of August. I'm trying to decide whether to go from Jean Pied de Port to Burgos or else Leon to Santiago(being able to get back easily is another factor). I hope to come back again another time to do the rest of it. Any advice would really help. Thanks Dee

I'm sure you'll hear as many opinions as there are Forum participants, but I'd advise the St Jean PdP to Burgos option in the time frame you have available. August is generally filled with local pilgrims in the last 100 kms, which means you'll likely be struggling to get accommodation and be fighting against overcrowding if you do Leon to Santiago. The stretch between SJPdP and Burgos is quite lovely and will likely have fewer crowds during August.

I agree with Sandy, Dee. This is a beautiful stretch of the trail. Be sure to tell us your story when you get back !

    Buen Camino !

Thanxs a mil for the advice Sandy & Alan, Jean Pied de Port to Burgos sounds the best for my adventure on the camino. Can't wait. Thanks again. Dee
