Biarritz to SJPP

Hi there, I have my flight booked to Biarritz on the 3rd of August which arrives at 15:40 and hope to reach SJPP the same day. Does anyone have information about buses and trains to get there? Do they need to be booked in advance?? Also do i need to book to stay in SJPP that night also?
I'm a bit nervous for my first camino so any help would be appreciated!!

Congrats! You'll have a delightful camino, I'm sure. Your available transport from Biarritz to SJPP will depend on your arrival time in Biarritz. If you're there by mid-afternoon you can catch a bus or taxi to the train station at Bayonne, then catch a train from Bayonne to SJPP (go to www.raileurope.com or SNCF : Voyage, Transports et Logistique to check the schedules and book your ticket). If you arrive by mid-afternoon in SJPP you can stay at an albergue in town, like L'espirit du Chemin where you can (and probably should) make reservations.

Just noticed a bus goes some days instead of a train after 3pm. Has anyone been on this ? I presume it just goes from the train station ?
