Red face Walking alone and in November

Hi all, I have never walked a long distance trail but I really want to do this one. I am not so good with maps and directions but this trail is well marked?? Also, did anyone just finish this? Was it cold? And....is anyone interested to join me perhaps maybe just for the start??

    Thanks!

    Hi Turbo,

I'm starting from St Jean around Wed 9th November 2011. I will arrive in SJPP on tuesday evening, from Biarritz but I'm not sure if I'll start walking wednesday or thursday.

Weather today looks bad but the forecast for the next week is not too bad and certainly not what I would call cold. I'm expecting all types of weather - good, bad and ugly!

I've walked several Caminos, though not from St Jean Pied de Port, and assume that the trail marking is very good , just like the others. Many posts on this and other forums confirm this.

    Here's a link to a live blog M's Camino

Happy to join you at the start or maybe we'll meet on the Way.

    All the best, Andrew.

I finished the camino about 4 weeks ago - I found the route incredibly well marked, the only times that I struggled a bit were getting out of some of the cities, especially Burgos. This was usually early in the morning, and so still dark, and I tried to be walking with someone as I didn't really trust myself not to miss the way. But I don't think it was because the way wasn't well signposted, more that I just sometimes missed the signs.

WellTurbo, you couldnt find a better marked trail. It's not a wilderness, far from it. It's a footpath all the way, stuffed with places to stay. There are so many on this way, you won't be alone. If you were alone, count yourself lucky. Company is wonderful, solitude also.

Put aside all doubts and just go. You'll never regret it and will laugh later at your worries.

    Enjoy! You will!
