Where to start, and how to get there!
I have two weeks at the end of March 2012 to walk the Camino Frances. Would Leon be a sensible place to start, in order to get to Santiago within my time frame? If so, which airport would be best from London, UK? The budget airlines do not have a complete schedule this early in the year, and this causes some concern in getting home! Any advice would be greatly received. Many thanks, Shaun.

Re: Where to start, and how to get there!
Hi Shaun!
With two weeks Leon would be a possibility however if I was you I'd start in Astorga which is two days after Leon. That will give you a little leeway in the event of slow progress and besides the Camino from Leon to Astorga is nothing special (especially if you take the route along the road).
Flying into Madrid might be your best bet, a bus to Leon will take about 3 hours and then another half an hour to Astorga. You could then get a bus or an overnight train from Santiago back to Madrid (although I think Ryanair still fly Santiago London).
Buen Camino!

Re: Where to start, and how to get there!
Thanks Ger,
thats something I may take into account. I may well start at Astorga, just to give me that cushion incase of mishaps/weather/injury.
I have now booked flights to Valladolid, and then can bus to Leon or Astorga to make my start.
Thanks for the advice,
Regards, Shaun
