How to travel to Roncesvalles from Bilbao?

Hi All,
next easter (saturday before) i want to start the camino from Roncesvalles. I live in Holland. Best (quickest) seems to fly to Bilbao, arriving around 14:00 hours. Does anybody have an idea how to reach Roncesvalles in the afternoon/early evening?

Hi Marco

There are regular buses from Bilbao to Pamplona. You can get information in the airport of at the bus station. Once in Pamplona I think you'll be too late for the scheduled bus services so you'll really have two options, negotiate a fare with a taxi driver (€50 to €60 is probably reasonable) or contact Express Bourricot Express Bourricot and book with them. Although from what I hear their service is limited outside the busy months.

It might be a better idea to spend a night in Pamplona en travel to Roncesvalles in the morning. It might give me time to get into the pelgrim mood instead of rushing around. I just hope busses will run, because it's easter.
