How hard is the Camino Frances?
Okay, I've done a 100km walk in 24 hours and I've done a 50 mile walk over 2 days.
But after reading about the Camino Frances earlier.... Wow!
800km, that's amazing!
I've spent all day reading about it and it looks like an absolutely amazing experience, I'm going to university this September and I already have plans for this summer, so I'm not sure when I should do the Camino, will the hostels be open on Christmas day because I was considering the possibility of going in December.
And my main query, how hard is it to get up every day and just walk?
Also, on the France route, how many English speaking walkers do you usually pass on each day because it seems like the main aspect of the walk is meeting people and doing the whole thing with them

Re: How hard is the Camino Frances?
Hi,
as for xmas day... I would not plan on it and check for pensions.
I can only converse in English, and I walked with others all the time - however it was mostly people who spoke English as a second language - often much better than I spoke it - that said I am originally from Glasgow.
The getting up and walking every day is not hard. You live with people day in day out and that is all they are doing - thinking of doing anything else just never happened to me.
