Default Coming from New Zealand in Sept/ Oct 2012

Hi- I've just joined this forum so am working my way around the fantastic information here. A group of us are planning to walk the Camino Frances in Sep Oct this year. My partner & I are coming from NZ, a friend is coming from Sydney and my daughter, who lives in London, will join us for a week, probably at the end. I am keen to walk a good portion of the Camino, but my friend only has 3 weeks and my partner has very dodgy knees/ hips so is limited as to how much walking is possible. My daughter has a week off (she's a teacher) from Oct 19. So my questions at this stage are - what options does my partner have- he has considerd a hire car/ public transport or even a camper van but my understanding is that he won't be able to use the Albergue if he is not walking. If that is the case what about private albergue? If we were going to skip part, which part? I know the guides suggest the Meseta. And if we want to meet my daughter a week out from Santiago, where is a good place? Also, we'll be flying in/out of the same city- to get a cheap fare- we're thinking Paris or Madrid but also want to go to Ireland either before or after, so any thoughts/ advice around that would be very welcome- Thanks in advance- Jane

There are local buses and taxis available along most of the way. It is very possible for him to meet you in the next stopping town by just taking a autobus in the morning and waiting for you there. It should not be a major problem. It all adds to the adventure and memories. ; )
Many people, including me, think the Meseta is one of the best parts of the Camino Frances. It is all a matter of personal opinion.
