I ordered 3 ponchos last week and they are here already! Here being British Columbia, Canada. I can't believe the speedy delivery! This means nearly all of my gear is together for April except toiletries. Onward!

My friend and I will be leaving from PEI on April 25, arriving in Paris on April 26, staying in SJPP, and begin our walk on April 27. We're not quite sure what to expect for weather, so we're basically trying to prepare for anything. What is your departure date from BC? Maybe we'll meet up with you!
I think that I know what brand of ponchos you ordered. I think that you will like them.

We'll be a little ahead of you. We fly from Vancouver to Paris on April 17th, on to Biarritz on the 18th, then hope to get the early train (8:10 am) from Bayonne to SJPP. We will check in, pick up some snacks and start walking right away, but will only go to Orisson the first day. I think we'll make it on adrenalin alone!
The one thing I don't see much about on this site is the Biarritz to Bayonne leg. On the map, they look really close - walkable even, to someone planning the Camino. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get from Biarritz to Bayonne ... and do most people take a cab, or a bus? We'll be arriving at about 8:30 pm on the 18th in Biarritz and want to get to Bayonne that night. We'll stay there, so we can catch the early train.
Buen Camino
Hi heyjude. I'm new to this forum but I grabbed the info from another forum I use. You can bus or taxi. Bus is €4 and Taxi €25. There will be other pilgrims so you can opt to share a cab or chat on the bus for considerably less. I understand that there is a dedicated bus that runs between the airport and train station 7 or 8 times per day. As for walking, my experience around the larger cities says take the bus. I have a list of times I said just the same thing as you and came to regret the decision as I saw numerous local buses and taxis pass us by. Buen Camino!

Thank you, BlackDog. Looks like we will be fine.
Much appreciated.

Thanks for this. Yes, BlackDog sent the link for the bus timetable. Looks like there are lots of buses. Everything is falling into place.
