Granon for me has been the one that stood out both times.

    Default Uterga

I only did the 1st week from st john to logrono - but i found this one really nice - http://www.caminodelperdon.es/albergue/

10 euros for bed and 12 for pilgrim dinner so bit more expensive - but nice place and a bit of beaten track of where everyone stops... so quite nice for a more tranquil stop off. (apart from obligatory 'road drill' snoring of course!!!!)

Oh yes, Boadilla is great. In 2005 I arrived there very cold and wet in late October to be greeted by a lovely open fire and a warm welcome.

    Default Tent??

    Hey Guys,

I gather that most pilgrims stay at the albergues along the way, and I was wondering: what about camping? is it common/safe/pleasent-weather-wise (in Oct.)? or would you recommend leaving the tent back home and relying solely on the albergues?
What is the price-range of these places?
What is the average distance between them? I mean - not carrying a tent deprives you of the possibilty of camping in the middle of nowhere in case you were to be held up til dark...

    What do you think?

The best one? I think it was Granon. For me, number two was that albergue near the church of Mary in Carri?n and number three albergue Putzu in Boadilla.

When I arived to Boadilla, I had a big blister on my foot. I couldn't go any more and even walking around the albergue was a suffering. Fortunately, Serafino, the hospitalero, taught me how to get rid of blisters: cut the blister twice with a sterile needle, push the liquid out and put the foot to water with salt and vinegar for at least 15 minutes. I had my feet in the water for almost an hour . After this, walking was no problem, and the next day I wouldn't believe I had any blisters if I didn't remember!

If you have any problem, stop in Boadilla and Serafino will help you!

    Default Credential

You can get the credential in many many places in The Camino.
Where do you go to begin the Camino ? In San Jean, in Roncesvalles, in Pamplona, in Leon, etc ???????
Don?t worry but I sure you can get the credential in the same place where you begin the Camino.
    Sorry my english.....................

    Default credencial

If you are American, you can get a credencial at www.americanpilgrims.com. They do not charge but do ask for a donation.

Beyond a doubt the best is Albergue a Pedra, I was unable to walk for a week due to an infected blister and the owner, Jose, was so nice to me - he is the kindest guy on the Camino and was always worried about me. The albergue itself is clean and comfortable with only four beds to a room and a good kitchen. It's right on the way into town and next door to the pilgrim tourist information office.
