Arriving in SJPP on 2nd oct and start the journey with a friend (who is used to climbing mountains) next day and intend to complete experience by end of oct.Not sure how to prepare so for first week in sept did 2hrs walk per day second week doing 3 then 4 for next week and 5hrs per day for last week. Its challenging at present because of persistent rain.Looking forward to meeting others along the journey.

A tip on Blisters: if you are unlucky enough to get a blister the secret is to burst it without breaking the skin,to do this you get a pin or needle and go under the skin near the blister,do this also on the opposite side. This allows the water in the blister to grt out at both ends without the blister skin breaking, and no you dont have to be a surgeon.Believe me it works, but hope no one has to try it but it is not painfull.

Way more training than I did for eiher time I walked. The first time I walked the Camino I walked one day with my pack on for about 5 hrs - just to make sure I was able.

I was used to walking a few times a months hill walking in the Dublin mountains. I must admit due to being over-weight and fairly unfit I found the first week very difficult, plus I pushed myself too fast. After the first week I was fine, apart from my feet which suffered for the whole of my first Camino.

    All the best.
