Thumbs up general info on walking in october

I am taking some students in october and have 3 days walking planned. Can some one tell me where i need to start from to get the certificate for the last 100km and whether it is possible to complete 100km in 3 days with 15/16 year old boys? We are flying into santiago on a tuesday and want to travel out to our starting point (100km away). What is the best way to do this? If there is any other advice you could give me on what we are planning to do it would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible to do this but it would be hard going.

Your start point would be Sarria, which is 112km to Santiago. therefore you would have about 35km per day. All of your party would have to have pilgrims passports - best to get before you go and that depends on where you live.

I would recommend four days yvonne. The terrain is quite hilly between Sarria and Santago and to cover the 112Km in three days would require walking 40Km or more on at least two of the days assuming you can find accommodation where you need it.

To get a 'Compostela' from the cathedral authorities you will be required to state that you have made the pilgrimage at least in part for spiritual reasons. Also you will need to show stamps in your pilgrim passport from places along the way. Given that you are walking only the last 100Km I would recommend getting at least two stamps at different villages along the way.
