Default Last night before Santiago de Compostela

Hi, a group of us are walking from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela starting in 2 weeks. We would like to stay the last night approximately 15 KMS from Santiago de Compostela so that we can walk the next morning and make the pilgrim mass without too early of a start. If it is too much closer than 15K it makes the previous day too long.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a town or a one/two star hotel to stop at 15K from S de C?
    Thank you

    Default One day to santiago

There are no large towns that distance before Santiago and the only hotels etc i know of are quite a bit back in Arzua.

however I would suggest two hostels in Santa Irene about 20km from Santiago and the last hostel before Monte do Gozo is Arca do Pino (Pedrouzo) - it has 126 beds - it is about 18km from there to Santiago.

Hope this helps. There is a full list of hostels on this page http://www.caminodesantiago.me.uk/albergues.html

If I were you I'd go to Monte de Gozo and then you just have a nice short walk to the city...you can sleep at monto de Gozo until 9 (at least we could) and then you'll be in Santiago before the 12 o'click service - without stressing over it.

Also, I met people who went to Pedrouzo in late Septembre and caught bed bugs in there. Nasty little buggers!

We recently stayed in Lavacolla at San Paio Pension (981 888 205) We shared a room with our friends and it was very reasonable with an excellent pilgrim's supper. We left at 7:45 am and were at the office of the Pilgrims by 10:30 a.m.
