Money and food
Good afternoon, pilgrims...
1.) I'd like to know, how much many is there food. I want to go from Leon do Santiago for 16 days (approximately) so a need to know, how much money I need.
2.) Is there fresh pastry, fruit and vegetable in all towns? Are there a lot of market (I mean markets with stall in villages not shops and supermarkets)
PS: (I can't speak English very well, I'm sorry)

Don't worry about your English, it is fine and much better than my knowledge of other languages.
As far as costs are concerned the following are a reasonable guide
for you to budget on.
Nightly albergue charge for your bed ?6
Cost of the Pilgrim Menu evening meal ?9
Daily budget for coffee/breakfast ?4
Daily budget for lunch ?5
When you cross into Galecia, the nightly albergue is "donativo" ie: you donate say ?3-4 for the night. You can actually pay nothing, but 95% pay something.
If you have bad habits like me and like a couple of beers in the evening, then you need ?5 for beer!
You need some money for emergencies such as having to buy medicine.
There are plenty of small shops to buy fruit, bread cheese etc if you want to make up your own lunch
Have fun.

And how much is there for example normal bread? I?ve never been to Spain, so I don?t know the prices of normal food (break, fruit, vegetable...)

Yeah, I read this, but I?ve nowhere seen, how much costs normal food in supermarkets or village?s shops or markets...

Javier " The price in Galicia?s Albergure from the last January is 3 ? per night.- Ok ? It is not donative"
They must have changed the rules, but when I went through Galecia in July08 they still seemed to be working on a donativo basis in the albergues I stayed in. There is no difference really between what most put in as a donation and what the new charge is. ?3 is very little for a bed and a roof over your head.
Thanks for the info.
