Walking Camino with 13 yr old
I am planning to walk Camino from Pamplona with my 20 yr. old daughter this July-August. We as well as my 13 yr old will be in Europe prior to that. My 13 yr old has expressed intrest in joining us for Camino, but she is a bit worried if this would be too much for her. She is physically fit, so I am more concerned with mental stamina for that age. any thoughts?

i encountered a british family of four walking the camino when i was there in 2003, burgos to leon. the girls were 11 and 7. the family stayed in refugios with other peregrinos and the kids made friends easily with local spanish kids at each destination. i think the main 'difference' in their walk was that they kept it to 10-15 KM a day and not more, mostly for the 7 year old.
this summer, i know of a mom and two sons (15 and 13) from my scout group who will be walking the camino together. as a parent, she is preparing mentally more than anything as she will be walking 'her' camino but also being there as a tremendous support to the kids.
i think it is wonderful that you may be going with your daughter.
