I'm going to walk the Camino Frances somewhere between late April and June in 2010 because it's my gap year before I head off to uni and of course I'm loaded with questions. I am going to start from St Jean and I want to continue through to Finisterre, I'm from Australia so I was wondering if any Aussie's could give me some suggestions on ways to get there. Also for the chosen time I have delegated, what kind of equipment, clothes etc should I take. My poor Mum is freaking out that I'm a female and going alone and I'm doing my best to placate her but she is my Mum and worrying is her job so I was wondering if anyone is starting at around that time; I know it would make her feel better slightly if I started with someone, all of my friends aren't crazy enough to walk that far with me so I have no luck there either. To everyone, I have been researching and compiling lists but it's always good to get an opinion from everyone so what in general are the best things to take and to Aussie's where did you purchase your items from? That's all I can think of currently lol but I'm sure I'll think of more. I'm glad for once I was easily inspired, the book "The Year We Seized The Day" motivated me to walk the Camino. The Byron Bay Writers Festival was awesome and I'm glad I went; I would never have known of the Camino otherwise I reckon.
