pilgrim's office in St Jean

Hi All,

Apologies if this is a repost however the search function was down and I couldn't see if this was mentioned anywhere else from the pages I scrolled through.

I'm now definitely arriving on April 6 in Biarritz before catching the 6:12 train to St Jean.

The only reference I've seen to the pilgrim's office hours is in one post it mentioned it was open until 10pm or so. Is this the case, or will I have to go to the office the following morning before setting out? Also, before committing to the Route Napoleon, will I need to see the office in the morning regardless?

As a 28 year old whom has been walking 12-15kms every day for the past 4 weeks to get ready for this, I'm still unsure how well I will cope!

You can get your credential at Accueil des pelerins de St-Jacques, 39 rue de la Citadelle, St Jean. The pilgrims office is open from 7h30 to 12h30 and then from 13h30 to 22h.

If you already have a credential you don't have to visit the pilgrims' office. Many pilgrims coming from further back in France stop in for a visit or just pass on by. If the weather is uncertain, check with them before you decide on the Route Napoleon. They will also help you book ahead if you want to stop at either Hunnto or Orisson on the way up. Perhaps you should book a bed at Esprit du Chemin before you leave? hubertarno@espritduchemin.org, website www.espritduchemin.org.

Yes, there is a problem with the search function since I updated the forum last weekend - I will have it fixed asap - however I have cornea dystrophy at present which stops me doing any detailed work until it heals - so the search function will be down for the next week or so - please bear with me.
