    Question Pamplona to St Jean

    hi,

I am travelling from Canada to Madrid on June 20 & will likely fly to Pamplona that day. I know I need to take a bus on Sunday June 21 to Roncesvalle but have not been able to see any schedules. Does anyone know where I can find one? I 've heard a taxi from Roncesvalle to St Jean is the best choice?

    Cheers!
    Darren

    The bus service to Roncesvalles.

The bus route is the service Pamplona to Jaurrieta which takes 70 minutes and costs ?5.40, for the stage to Roncesvalles.

There seems to be one bus on Sundays at 6pm from Pamplona to Roncesvalles. There are usually other bus services running along the Camino route but they are small firms who don't seem to have web sites!!

Javier - still snow out there I see. Well, I'm in southern Alberta, Canada and it's been the worst winter of my life but it's now thawed and we have some warm sun now. I'm from the UK and only been here since 2005 so 8' snowbanks were a shock.

Darren - good luck with your trip and hope you find some safe transport!

    Hey Everyone,
So in about a week I will be flying to Pamplona, just want to make sure I have some idea of how I will get to St.Jean from there. So there is a bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles... and from there I'll try to grab a taxi.

    Covey, you said that
"The bus route is the service Pamplona to Jaurrieta which takes 70 minutes and costs ?5.40, for the stage to Roncesvalles." I just checked on google maps and jaurrieta goes quite a bit east and sout from pamplona... does the route head up to Roncesvalles and then south and east to Jaurrieta? Do you know where I would take this bus from? Is it at the airport or a terminal down town?

Javier, is the bus route you mention one I pick up downtown? or at the airport?

Anyone else know of bus routes? times/locations? etc?

    Thanks guys!
    Costa

I have not actually done the Pamplona to St Jean relocation so am just going on what is on various Spanish web sites and the bus timetables published on them.

With Alsa you know the schedules are accurate for the dates shown and you can book on line and print out a ticket as I have done that, but it is difficult sometimes to verify that a timetable published on a Spanish web site is actually current.

When in doubt, everything goes from the town bus station and the Pamplona Airport web site only mentions a bus service in to Pamplona.

Spanish local bus services do go in some very strange direction to get where they are going!!
