    Default Any documents necessary?

    Hello everybody!
Can anybody tell me if there is any sort of border control between Spain and France? 'Cause I want to start The Camino at Saint Jean Pied Du Port and I won't take my documents with me.(I'm not Spanish nor European).
    Thanks a lot!

On the road going over the top between St Jean and Roncesvalles there is a post marking the official border between France and Spain. Blink, and you will have missed it!!

However, if you are not an EU citizen, you should carry your passport/identity documents as you may be asked to produce them if you go to a hospital, or you might be asked by the police for identity at some point. Banks will ask for your national passport as proof of identity.

The pilgrim office at St Jean will ask for your national passport because the Pilgrim Passport they issue requires your passport number/ identity card number to be entered on the form.

I would strongly advise anyone walking the Camino to carry your national passport, EU Health Card, travel insurance documents on your person at all times.
