Hi Covey,
I have looked into booking a flight from Boston to Biarritz on the 29th & I have myself flying out of Santiago on the 4th of August.
I will be on the road when you are in early July. Why did you want to know if anyone else was starting them?
Please advise me, Can I make it to Santiago in that time frame or should I give myself more time.
I am in good shape & have no desire to rush or walk fast.
This is my first Camino.

It is sometimes nice to meet people who have been using the web site for advice.
Many who launch forth from far off lands have little way of knowing what to expect, and a friendly face helps for the first week.
That is why they call us the Camino Grandfathers. We give a helping hand to those who are not sure of where to go or how to get help.
It's my way of giving back a little of the enjoyment I have got from walking the Camino over the past four years.
On the other hand, if you are very good looking, we kidnap the good looking ones and sell them to the white slave traders who ply their trade along the Camino!!!
Provided you do not push yourself too hard and pick up injuries, you will lay your scallop shell at the feet of St James by the 3rd August in Santiago, providing you have not eloped with some good looking Brazilian!!

LOL. I liked the silly parts of your reply! I really needed good laugh.
Thank you.
I just got the cheapest flight I could and the dates are the 28th until August 6!
So, I will have plenty of time.
Would you like to meet in St. Jean? I am more than happy to meet a friendly face! Please feel free to message me.
I am not sure where I will stay when I get to St. Jean. I will need to get a train I believe from Biarritz Airport & then find my way to a Hostel & finally to the Office to get my passport to begin.
I have much faith & I trust myself to find my way. However, I do not believe in reinventing the wheel so please offer advice if you see fit to.
I have been guided to only go one step at a time so I am not looking too far ahead.
A big smile to you!

Donna

When you get to Bairritz Airport you need to get the bus to Bayonne Station. Unless they have moved the bus stop, the bus goes from just outside the terminal main doors and drops you at the front of the station in Bayonne. You can get the times of the bus from the airport information desk in the public area of the terminal.
The train from Bayonne to St Jean is run by Ter-sncf.

When you get to St jean, you walk up the hill following the crowd of baggy trousered pilgrims wearing rucksacks to the Pilgrim Office where you collect your Pilgrim Passport and get a little chat about the weather and where to stay.
Having done that, you go and find your bed for the night, go shopping for some food items to carry for the following day, and get a good nights sleep.
The next morning, put a smile on your face, and head off on your great adventure.
I am arguing with a client who wants me to redesign their IT system at present starting on 1st July, so might not make the 2nd as planned. One of the nice things about the Camino is you can start whenever you like, so I might have to wait until August.
However if I see a lady in the distance wearing her "I love Brazilians" tee shirt, I will know I have caught up with you.
Take care and enjoy!!

Wonderful, thank you so much for this information! I have first steps to take thanks to your kindess.
I can't believe I am leaving in a few days! I have had many adventures in my life, but none I think that will compare to this...
I do love Brazilians, but mostly I just love kindness! So whoever has kindness, I love & I think that is most people, no? Big smile. I just don't kiss them all...blush! Only the handsome, kind ones...LOL.
Take care for yourself...as One Heart I salute you...may your road lead you Home.
