Paris to St. Jean - Cheapeast and Fastest Way

I have a friend flying into Paris from the States. What is the cheapest and fastest way to get from Paris to St. Jean?

Mmmm? The cheapest way is to walk!! (I did - in 2004. The route is the Via Turonensis).

The fastest is to fly to Biarritz. Some fares can be as low as 24 euro.

Second fastest is to take the TVG - High-speed train - south to Bayonne or Biarritz. www.sncf.com:
Then a local train from Biarritz (and Bayonne) to St. Jean Pied de Port ? 1hr50 mins. You can sometimes get cheap specials on the TVG.

Over night train from Paris is also worth looking at. I did this in 2004, but you will not arrive in St Jean early enough to walk all the way to Roncesvalles.

Hello there does anyone know how ofter the local train runs from Biarritz to St. Jean pdp? or possibly the name of the local train so I can check the schedule. Thanks....so much.
