    Default Getting to Sarria

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my question. I am planning on walking the Camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela; however, I cannot seem to find a way to get to Sarria by bus or train.

I would appreciate any guidance on reaching Sarria via public transportation.

Again, thank you for your assistance.

Most pilgrims get to Sarria via Santiago, then bus to Lugo, and then another bus to Sarria.

If you are coming to Spain from the States then you will probably enter Spain at Madrid and there are frequent coach, train and flights to Santiago. There are direct flights with Ryanair from London and Dublin to Santiago.

From Santiago Bus Station you catch the Santiago - Lugo bus service run by Empresa Freire. There is a direct service and one which goes to Lugo via Santiago airport. The journey is about 2 hours for the Airport - Lugo run. Empresa Freire S.L.

At Lugo bus station you change to a local bus service to Sarria, which takes around 40 minutes.

There is also a direct overnight train from Madrid to Lugo.

See: Renfe - Horarios y precios

(dynamic link so I'm not sure if it'll work for you - otherwise go to Renfe and click on Buscador de Horarios and then select Madrid > Lugo).

    Hi.
We're looking to get from Santander to Sarria on the 11th October. Any ideas how?
I had a look at that renfe site, but it didn't seem to give any results?

    Cheers

    ALSA - Hacemos tu viaje m?s f?cil

The link above should take you to the ALSA coach service from Santander to Santiago. This is probably the easiest and most scenic way to get to Santiago but book the Club class coach if possible. It is a very comfortable way of travelling!
