A close friend - the donkey

Hi,
Can't offer any advice about taking the journey by horse, but came across a good read by Tim Moore where he undertakes the 500 mile journey from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela with a donkey in tow.. The book is titled

Travels with My Donkey: One Man and His Ass on a Pilgrimage to Santiago.

Very enjoyable read that's light hearted.....good for a laugh and that's always a good thing...
