Ponte de Lima in September

I'm in the very early stages of planning to walk the Camino beginning mid-September. I already have one definite issue (I'm sure I'll be submitting lots more questions as my plans develop). For now, my proposed schedule is going to get me to Ponte de Lima right in the middle of the local festival - Feiras Novas. Any ideas on just how crowded it gets? Is there accommodation available only to pilgrims or will I be competing with the party-goers too? Should I just book hotel accommodation very early?

We were in Ponte de Lima around Sept 20, 2010. We had the same problem with all the people. I made our reservations early and it worked out great. I would make them now to ensure a place to stay. I recommend the Axis de Ponte de Lima hotel. I think I have the name correct. It was around 60 Euros and is about 3 miles out of town by cab. Taxi was about 4-5 Euros but was worth it to us. The hotel used to be called Hotel Golf and some people don't know the new name. The hotel is very nice. There a lots of people in this town for the the festival and we had a great time. It was one of my favorite spots on our trip. Enjoy!
