1st time from Porto around September 4/5

Hi! I am planning to do the Portuguese route from Porto stating around Sept 4. I would like to communicate with any other person with similiar plans.

I also welcome any advise concerning
1: Howto get from Vigo to Porto.
2: I would like to rent a phone in Spain - will the phone in Spain work at Portugal?
3: Safety - woman traveling solo.

Any other advice, is also welcome. Thank you

Hi, Im going to do the Camino de Portuguese on the 2nd of September, I too am wanting to know where I can get a map of the route and even where do i get the camino passport.. I live in Spain at the moment and Im sure that the phone will work in Portugal, but not 100%, I went for a trip to France and Germany the other week and my Spainish phone worked fine there, so im guessing it would work in Portugal.

If you have any info on obtaining a map of the route and about Albergues and Refugios along the way as well as which church or cathedral you get your passport from in Porto that would be great..

I know what to do now!!! all we have to get is A Pilgrim's Guide to the Camino Portuguès by John Brierley, it has the step by step way of this walk, where to stay. how much, everything, you can order it online or ask your local bookshop to order it in... I also will be seeing a Portugese friend up the road this weekend and i'll ask about the phone..

Hi Domonique! How are your plans comming along? I will be leaving the US on Sept. 2nd. I can share the notes forom the book if interested. You can get the credential at the Cathedral. I will be visiting the Cathedral on the 4th. Maybe we meet fellow Pilgrim. Buen Camino!

sounds good, though im seeing if i can meet up with a friend of a friend, so i can stay in Porto from the second to the 4th, im booking flights tomorrow and seeing what i can get. Some part me wants to start a.s.a.p because my plans have changed, im leaving for India sooner then i expected, would be great if i can meet up with you on the 4th to start the journey, though i know too there will be times to walk alone, ive had a big year, lol.. But for sure be good to start with a fellow pilgrim and go from there... my email address just in case we miss each other is ophiah@gmail.com I'll know by the weekend if the 4th is good for me, i think so just depends on one thing, if it works well in my plan then, no problem then the 4th it is..

We'll work out a time to meet at the cathedral if you like..

hi, again have ordered the book two days ago, it sounds like a wonderful memento to keep and remember this amazing experience we are going to have.. Im so excited to finally walk the camino, and in Johns book the walk we're doing is his favourite out of them all.. That sounds perfect to me...
